Effective Pet Behavior Solutions Made Simple, Affordable and Convenient!
Jacquie Tortolani-Taday started her career as a Registered Veterinary Technician in emergency and small animal nursing for over a decade. But before that, she was inspired to become a lifelong vegetarian and advocate for animal welfare by her two large breed mutts that she cared for since she was 13yrs old until they reached the same age. A year later, after earning her bachelor's degree in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology from UC Davis in 2016, she welcomed her first child! In 2019 Jacquie completed her online Fear Free certification, which ultimately sparked her passion for creating a fear free environment for pets in veterinary medicine and at home. She then transitioned into a stay-at-home mother of two in 2020 with the arrival of her second child. Thanks to the pandemic, she started working from home for the GoodPup dog training app, seeing up to 12 clients a day from all over the country and sometimes oversees! After 22 years of personal dog training experience, 4 years of high volume professional behavior consultation and virtual training experience, thorough studying and vigorous testing, she has achieved certified dog trainer status from the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and the Grisha Stewart Academy, to become a CBCC-KA and CBATI-KA in 2023, respectively. As a certified canine behavior consultant and behavior adjustment training instructor, with a veterinary technician background, Jacquie is much more than a typical positive reinforcement dog trainer! She focuses on healing relationships and getting to the root of behavior problems to provide long-lasting resolutions that really transform lives for the better. Jacquie is committed to offering the best dog training experience possible and is happy to assist you in finding any additional or alternative support you may require because we all need a village sometimes.

Behavior adjustment training is reading your dog's body language to understand their emotional states and respond appropriately. To thrive dogs need to feel seen and heard, just as we do. Attunement is all about understanding and meeting the needs of others and ourselves. Learn how non-violent communication can transform your life!
Behavior adjustment training is loose long-leash training made simple. It is an upgrade from a retractable leash that allows them to feel off-leash. This specialized training is the kindest choice because it allows for you and your dog to have a say over your individual movements to foster cooperation. We teach dogs how to get more of what they want simply by following your safety rules first.
Behavior Adjustment Training is positive reinforcement dog training with a focus on environmental management to allow for more choices from your dog. We reward good choices and do our best to prevent the opportunity for bad choices. We do not correct/punish mistakes but we do provide kind feedback and clarity on the boundaries to encourage better future choices.
Behavior Adjustment Training is remedial socialization for dogs suffering from reactive tendencies. This training sets up their environment to feel safe while distantly exposed to one of their reactivity triggers. It works like systematic desensitization without distracting them with treats. They learn, in their own time, how to navigate their "scary" world with confidence, resilience and gain skills to avoid conflict.
